2022 Kids for Camp Scholarship Winner

Joselyn Sky Goldman

The American Harp Foundation is pleased to announce the winner of the Kids for Camp Scholarship for 2022: Joselyn Sky Goldman (age 13) from Atascadero, California, a student of Penny Howk Beavers.

Joselyn will attend the Central Coast Harp Workshop the third week of July, this summer, in Morro Bay with Marcia Dickstein.

In Joselyn’s very first “Kid’s n’ Keys” class (age 4) she started picking out “We Will Rock You” by ear on the keyboard. The teacher looked at me and asked incredulously, “You don’t have a piano or keyboard at home?” I shook my head no and she said, “Keep this one in music.” Joselyn continued with piano, started ukulele at 6, harp at 8 and mandolin at 10. She has been singing with the Central Coast Youth Chorus since age 9. Currently, Joselyn is studying harp with Penny Beavers. She is homeschooled and has been blessed with the time to pursue her passion for music! Music is her absolute joy. Joselyn loves to perform, having found her way to the stage as early as age 6. She has performed 4 times with Michael Franti and Spearhead, twice with AJ Lee and Blue Summit and numerous times with local bands. She has also been hired for a few solo gigs at local wineries and shops. With the kindhearted help of our good friend Nick Gallant Joselyn just recorded her very first album of 10 original songs and one cover.
