The 2012 Anne Adams Award Winner, Katherine Siochi joins the San Francisco Symphony as principal harpist beginning in the 2023–24 season, appointed by Esa-Pekka Salonen. Previously, she was principal harpist of the Minnesota Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, and Sarasota Orchestra.
Siochi won first prize in the 2016 USA International Harp Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious harp contests. She has given solo concerts in Hong Kong, China, and Israel, and at Lyon & Healy Hall in Chicago. From 2015 to 2017 she served as concert artist for the American Harp Society, presenting recitals and masterclasses in 23 U.S. cities.
Siochi released her debut solo album Nocturne on Lyon & Healy Records, which includes several of her own piano transcriptions. As an orchestral musician, Siochi has performed as guest principal harp with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and as second harp with the New York Philharmonic. She has played at summer festivals including Classical Tahoe, Colorado Music Festival, and as a fellow at Tanglewood Music Center and Aspen Music Festival and School.
